The crowd was kinda cool, so the show didn't really take off til Dancin Barefoot. Verlaine was in good form, but I didn't think the Redondo Beach was as good as other recent versions I've heard.
The new stuff is just great. Gone Again Patti announced as the last song that Fred wrote and its amazing. Grateful and In Heaven Blue Are lovely and About a Boy is stirring and powerful.
The Not Fade Away that Patti did on Saturday was the best of the 5
times I've seen her do it, no small feat considering it is a high
point of each show I have seen.
